  Job Summary:

   

  We are looking for a skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Chandigarh. As a DBA, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our SQL Server databases. You'll work closely with developers and IT professionals to ensure system reliability, high availability, and performance tuning of mission-critical database systems.

  Key Responsibilities:

  🔄 High Availability & Disaster Recovery:

   

  • Configure and maintain Always On Availability Groups, Mirroring, Replication, and Clustering.

  • Develop and implement robust disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and system downtime.

  🚀 Performance Tuning & Optimization:

   

  • Identify and troubleshoot performance issues, bottlenecks, and slow queries.

  • Optimize queries, indexes, and execution plans for maximum efficiency.

  • Collaborate with development teams to fine-tune stored procedures and T-SQL code.

  🛠️ Maintenance & Backup:

   

  • Manage and automate backup and restore strategies.

  • Maintain and monitor SQL Server Agent Jobs and maintenance plans.

  • Ensure regular health checks and database consistency.

  🔐 Security & Compliance:

   

  • Enforce database security policies, user access controls, and data encryption.

  • Ensure compliance with data protection standards and internal governance policies.

  🧩 Versioning & Deployment:

   

  • Work with developers to manage database version control and schema deployments.

  • Handle database migrations and updates with minimal disruption to operations.

  📊 Day-to-Day Operations:

   

  • Proactively monitor database health and system uptime.

  • Provide support for ad-hoc queries, reporting, and performance issues.

  • Recommend improvements to scale databases for future growth.

  Required Skills & Qualifications:

   

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL DBA.

  • Deep understanding of SQL Server High Availability features – Always On, Replication, Mirroring, Clustering.

  • Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.

  • Experience with SQL Server Agent, Maintenance Plans, and monitoring tools.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and database versioning tools is a plus.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Experience in PowerShell scripting and T-SQL automation is advantageous.
